The Tide (2011) is a piece written for Vibraphone, Marimba, Alto Saxophone, Bb Clarinet, and Cello. It utilizes jazz-like harmonies and sonorities that eerily portray the tide coming in. A simple theme is slowly transformed into a fast-flowing current of texture. Eventually the piece is left with the remnants of the same theme that was presented from the beginning.
