A Sight Reader's Nightmare
I do not want to give away too much of this piece, but it is based around the stylistic genre of “New Complexity.” This genre is well know for very difficult musical notation, highly complex and multi-layered timbres, and extreme dissonance. Found primarily in the music of composers Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Finnissy, and Arthur Kampela, the music is honestly a bit of a nightmare for performers. So what if someone had to sight-read it?
