Moon
Poem by: Brice L Johnson
Indignant moon you wane so long
a gleaming glimpse from crescent's song,
the light to stars your face has stolen
but hearken to the promised sun.
Indignant moon you wane so long
through wicker windings striking beams
from nightly themes we too recoil,
sapphire shadows haunted shapes
treachery amidst the midnight.
Indignant moon you know no wrong
you suffer by the weight of dawn.
On July 20th 1969, Apollo 11 touched down on the surface of a foreign world. This place that had been watched by man for millennia was finally reached in a feat of innovation as the human race watched in great anticipation. The subsequent Space Age brought about many questions about the unknowns of space exploration, but also ignited a technological explosion that continues to accelerate even today.
